What does it mean for you to be an ERA Member?

Being a member of ERA as a nephrologist from a small, developing country like Tajikistan means, above all, representing the pride of my country and my parents, as well as benefiting my patients.

What opportunities, experiences, and knowledge have you gained?

I would like to express my gratitude to the ERA for awarding me a CME Travel Grant to attend the ERKNet Nephropathology Workshop in Paris, France, in 2018. I never expected such progress in my career and was unsure if I would ever have the opportunity to visit France and meet leading specialists in Europe. Moreover, I gained access to the world’s leading nephrology resources, such as NDT and CKJ, and accumulated invaluable experience that significantly improved my professional skills.

How has ERA impacted your career and education?

ERA membership has many advantages. It has given me the confidence to collaborate with my team of nephrologists and to study best practices in the field guided by the ERA. Overall, ERA membership is a source of great pride and represents another step forward in my career.

During my short-term fellowship, I participated in the meeting of the Danish Transplant Society. Further, I engaged in activities organized by the Young Aarhus Researchers in Nephrology (YARN) network, a passionate group dedicated to fostering collaboration among researchers in nephrology in Aarhus.
