How has the recognition from the ERA Awards affected your career trajectory and opportunities for collaboration?

The ERA Rosanna Gusmano Award has been a significant boost of my visibility within the field of Nephrology research. The recognition of the ERA has resulted in novel collaborations with European researchers. These new collaborations are instrumental in achieving my mission to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of kidney tubulopathies.

Can you share any upcoming projects or goals you have in mind that continue to stimulate the dialogue between education and research in your field?

Scientists should be at the heart of society. Sharing scientific findings should extend beyond traditional academic publications. That’s why I collaborate with patient organizations to make our research accessible to a broader audience, including patients and students. I believe social media can be a powerful tool for this purpose.
