I think it is a great experience for young nephrologists. It gives the chance to see different ways of working across Europe and to learn new skills that may not be possible to develop in your home hospital. It also helps to improve existing skills by learning from very precise and experienced nephrologists. I think the programme offers many opportunities, with different projects in various fields, and it is open to everyone, focusing on your interest in a specific area instead of your hospital background.

Definitely. It is a very unique job experience that gives you different perspectives. It helps you see all the fields of nephrology, not just clinical practice but also research, and it keeps you updated on the latest developments. It really helps to complete your knowledge as a nephrologist. In my case, it opened my mind to the research field, which I couldn’t fully explore in my Spanish hospital. I think this is very important for professional growth.

The fellowship gave me new options to work in research, not only at my host institution in Italy but also in other European institutions. It gave me experience that has been very useful for my career and opened new doors.

I had the chance to attend European congresses and webinars, which was a great experience. More importantly, I was part of a specific project on incremental dialysis, learning from two of the most important nephrologists in this field. This helped me gain a full understanding of the topic and allowed me to implement it safely in my country. Additionally, I worked as a clinical monitor in the research field, which is also a very interesting option for the future.
