Christoph’s story

The recognition with the 2023 ERA Rosanna Gusmano Award has markedly influence my career as it has significantly elevated my visibility and highlighted my research. It has helped me to start networking and collaborating on very interesting research projects across Europe. It has furthermore motivated my entire team to work hard and dedicated towards our goals.

Our upcoming projects are focused on integrating large scale single cell and spatial multiomics data using novel computational approaches. One goal of my lab is to help everyone no matter which entry level with starting computational analysis. This task requires team effort but also a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability from all team members. By leveraging the unique insights provided by single-cell and spatial multiomics data, we aim to uncover new biological mechanisms and contribute to a deeper understanding of complex diseases. As we embark on these projects, we emphasize the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration, ensuring that experts in biology, computer science, and data analytics work closely together. Ultimately, our lab's mission extends beyond achieving scientific milestones; it is about empowering researchers with the knowledge and tools they need to explore the frontiers of genomic research, thereby advancing the field.
