Aurora’s story

Absolutely! The ERA National Grant is a recognition of my work by the most important European society in the field of Nephrology. As I aim to pursue my scientific career in Nephrology, this grant holds significant value and deserves a place on my CV.

I believe the ERA National Society of Nephrology has introduced a commendable initiative, especially for young scientific researchers. It not only acknowledges their work but also fosters their motivation. National Societies should undoubtedly leverage this opportunity as it encourages the active participation of young researchers, enhancing the quality and novelty of conferences. Furthermore, it strengthens the connection between National and European Societies of Nephrology.

In my view, ERA has outstanding initiatives that support both basic and clinical research in nephrology, dialysis, and renal transplantation. These initiatives not only raise public awareness but also facilitate collaborations beyond European borders, fostering interactions among professionals. As a young basic scientist, I appreciate ERA's support for basic research, bringing us closer to both clinical and private research in clinical healthcare.

In my experience, ERA's initiatives have been instrumental in introducing young individuals to the field of nephrology at the early stages of their careers. I had the opportunity to present an oral communication at Paris 2022 because I received a Travel Grant from ERA. Additionally, thanks to the ERA National Grant, I now have a three-year free ERA membership, enabling me to avail myself of various opportunities offered by ERA, including Congress Travel Grants, short/long-term Fellowships, and access to seminars and workshops.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to utilize the free congress registration yet due to a medical problem. However, I plan to take advantage of it at Stockholm next year, where I hope to present my latest work. Despite this, I attended the Paris 2021 congress, and I intend to participate in ERA congresses whenever possible to stay updated on the latest trends and findings in nephrology.
