The programme is an excellent initiative that allows for the development of scientific skills and collaboration on research projects led by the ERA working group, whose activities align with individual interests.

I believe it should not only be mentioned in the CV, but it could potentially be a turning point in one’s career trajectory.

The fellowship enabled me to combine two areas of interest - glomerular diseases and biostatistics. Additionally, the opportunity to understand the functioning, possibilities, and limitations of a different healthcare system, and observe therapeutic decisions in another institution and country, was an invaluable practical experience. After a year, I return equipped with new knowledge and practical skills, which will undoubtedly impact both my clinical work and scientific activity.

The greatest and most unique opportunity provided by this fellowship was the chance to meet other glomerular disease enthusiasts from around the world, and to work with and learn from world-class experts in a field I am deeply passionate about. This opened new professional avenues for me - completely inaccessible without this fellowship - such as participation in high-quality research projects of significant importance for medical advancement. In this regard, the fellowship exceeded my expectations. Much of this is thanks to my supervisor, Dr. Andreas Kronbichler, for his time, unwavering support, and generosity in sharing his expertise, for which I am incredibly grateful.
