The ERA Congress promotes sustainable development and global responsibility in different ways: the aim is to encourage environmentally friendly behaviours and to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy environment for healthy kidneys.

- Go digital and reduce paper usage: Access congress materials and schedules through our official Congress app and Virtual Congress to reduce paper waste.
- Bring your reusable items: Remember to bring your own reusable water bottle and coffee cup to refill at our water stations and coffee breaks.
- Recycle your lanyard: You can reuse it next year or return it at the Registration area at the end of the Congress.
- Reduce your carbon footprint: Reduce your flights carbon footprint thanks to the Fly Green Fund: use the carbon emissions calculator and make a donation to support the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
- Energy conservation: Turn off computers, laptops and other electronic devices when not in use. Recharge them only when needed.
- Waste reduction: Dispose of waste responsibly by using designated recycling and compost bins provided throughout the venue.
- Engage in sustainable catering: Enjoy locally sourced food and vegetarian options provided by our caterers and avoid single-use plastics.

- Provide feedback: Share your thoughts and suggestions on how we can improve our sustainability efforts for future congresses
Social responsibility
- The ERA Congress supports multidisciplinary encounters and diversity perspectives (e.g. prayer room, nursery).
- Several price categories are offered to make the Congress accessible even for participants from low-income countries and to enhance the participation of students and young nephrologists.
- The ERA Congress strongly promotes gender balance.
- ERA takes measures to ensure health safety (hygiene, thorough cleaning of facilities, medical support team) and people security (security staff).
