Olimkhon’s story

Considering that ERA is a very authoritative and representative nephrology association not only in Europe but throughout the world, the ERA National Societies Grant is certainly a significant achievement for my career and it already takes pride of place in my CV. I am indeed very proud to be the first recipient of this grant from my country. In my opinion, in addition to the fact that this award is recognition of my modest merits and gives greater recognition, it also imposes a certain responsibility on my future activities.

I think that this award was exactly what was missing. Many young nephrologists from different ERA countries now have a huge incentive for further development and improvement. I am sure that with active communication about this award, even more national societies will become interested and take advantage of this opportunity.

I am more satisfied with the ERA initiatives. I especially wanted to note the initiative of the National Societies Membership, which gave many nephrologists (especially young ones) from different countries the opportunity to become a member of the ERA, which they previously did not have. And now all doors are open for them to take advantage of the ERA benefits.

I can talk about this for a long time and joyfully, since my career has been marked by so many different ERA activities. From the holder of a Travel Grant for CME courses to the YNP National Representative from Uzbekistan, from participation in the Strong Kidneys initiative to a speaker at the ERA Congress. And all this is certainly reflected in my career and is sincerely recognized by my management, which naturally gives impetus to my future career.

Of course, thanks to this free registration, I was lucky enough not only to take part in the Congress, but also to present my abstract as a Poster Presentation and get a publication in NDT. The educational part of the congress was, as always, excellent and very informative. Necessarily. If earlier I only dreamed of participating in the ERA Congress, now I have been participating in it constantly for 4 years. And I hope it will be for a very long time. Also, I hope that someday I will still be able to become an ERA Congress Travel Grant holder.
